How to approach it

Three useful clues

01

Wing planform

Decide whether the wing is straight, swept or delta-shaped. Then check for winglets, canards or rotor blades.

02

Engine placement

Count the engines and note whether they sit under the wing, beside the rear fuselage or inside the airframe.

03

Tail arrangement

A conventional tail, T-tail, twin fins or no tail at all can narrow the answer before smaller details become visible.
