How to approach it

Three useful clues

01

Tail symbol

Start with the shape rather than the colour: flags, animals, abstract ribbons and letterforms remain recognisable under different light.

02

Fuselage wordmark

Confirm the airline name, language and placement. Alliance aircraft and special liveries may change the expected colour scheme.

03

Engine and belly

Many carriers repeat a signature colour or logo on engine nacelles and the underside of the aircraft, providing a second independent clue.
